BLACKWOOD, SOUTH WALES
The Welsh event, at Blackwood, South Wales on the 12th and 13th July is back by popular demand of all who rode it last year. The course will differ from last year in that Mike is planning a different route for Sportsman and Trail classes which really will ensure this track is rideable for all abilities. Whilst the clubman, experts and championship will be riding the more challenging course through the rocky stream beds and decent and climbs.
Sunday’s course will be run in the opposite direction with many changes which will ensure that it runs like a completely different course.
The Saturday evening will see the return of the King of the Hill Competition. Last year this award went to Tom Smith in the adult class, who was one of only 10 who conquered the challenging hill climb. The competition saw some entertaining and gutsy riding from all competitors. With changes to the course this year the competition promises to be one of the highlights of the weekend. The youth riders can have a go too, last year it was local boy Chris Evans who took the crown. If you don’t fancy riding it, just watching provides lots of fun.
The aim of the weekend is not just 2 rounds of the championship but to offer riders a fun weekend of excellent riding and socialising.
To encourage fathers and sons/ daughters Track n Trail have a special award for them. Over the two days racing they will be awarded points equivalent to their finishing positions. The lowest combined scores will win, there will be trophies down to third place. In fact any adult and youth combination can enter.
Plus there will be free camping for all and a choice of food vans.
With a special entry price for everyone entering both rounds this really promises to be an excellent weekend of racing. |
